The Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India aimed at the socio-economic development of Scheduled Caste communities through skill development, income generation, and infrastructure support. In Assam, the scheme is being implemented by the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) as the nodal agency.
Under PM-AJAY, ASDM undertakes targeted skill development and entrepreneurship programmes to enhance employability and promote sustainable livelihoods among Scheduled Caste beneficiaries. The Mission focuses on demand-driven training, industry-aligned job roles, and capacity-building initiatives, along with post-training support for wage employment and self-employment.
Through effective convergence, monitoring, and use of its MIS platform, ASDM ensures transparent implementation and optimal utilization of resources, contributing to inclusive growth and empowerment of Scheduled Caste communities across the State.
