GURU Project (Promotion of Local Artisans’ Work in Indigenous Trade through Gurus/Experts)

The Promotion of Local Artisan works in Indigenous Trade through Guru/Expert project (Guru Project) under the Placement Linked Skill Development Training Program (PLSDTP) for FY 2025–26 has been designed by the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) to preserve and promote the rich indigenous trades of Assam while creating livelihood opportunities for local youth. The initiative aims to train ten candidates in each of the thirty‑five districts of the state, thereby covering a total of 350 beneficiaries. Training programs will run for a minimum of ten days and a maximum of thirty days, with course modules prepared by district‑nominated Gurus or Experts. Each trainee will receive a stipend of ₹35 per hour directly into their bank account, along with a training kit that includes a T‑shirt or apron, a cap with the ASDM logo, tea and snacks during sessions, an entrepreneurial kit, and a book of eminence upon successful completion. Certificates will be awarded to participants, while Gurus will be recognized with appreciation certificates. Importantly, the project has already been executed successfully in 32 districts across Assam, demonstrating its effectiveness and acceptance at the grassroots level.
