CM-FLIGHT is a flagship initiative of the Government of Assam aimed at creating global employment opportunities for Assamese youth through foreign language training and overseas placements.
The initiative emerged following Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s visit to Japan in January 2025 to promote international investment and workforce collaboration. During the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, multiple MoUs were signed with leading Japanese partners to establish Japanese language training institutes and prepare youth for employment in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa program.
Under the pilot phase (2025–26), 180 candidates are being trained through international partners including ASEAN ONE Co. Ltd., Jaceex Ventures LLP, and Meiko Career Partners Co. Ltd. (via Mirai Japanese Learning Centre). Training is currently conducted at multiple locations across Assam under the Assam Skill Development Mission.
To ensure inclusivity, the State Government provides:
₹1,00,000 per candidate as training support
₹50,000 per candidate as post-placement assistance for overseas relocation
The program significantly reduces the financial burden of Japanese language training and enables equal access for deserving students. CM-FLIGHT aims to train over 50,000 youth in three years, addressing Japan’s labour needs while empowering Assam’s youth with sustainable global careers.
