ASDM planned to set up one skill city which will comprise schools of multiple sectors in one campus with all modern skilling equipments and infrastructure to create skilled manpower of global needs.
The Mission focuses on establishment of 9 nos. multi skill education centre (Centre of Excellence) in 9 locations in the state namely Majuli, Dibrugarh, Nalbari, Silchar, Biswanath Chariali, Diphu, Dhubri, Nagaon and Kokrajhar.
ASDM has signed an MOU with ITE, Singapore to establish North East Skill Centre in Guwahati focusing on trades Beauty & Wellness, Retail services, Hospitality operations and Food & Beverage services to replicate skilling of ITE, Singapore model in Assam. ASDM will take similar initiative with scheme development schools of South Korea for automobile, Japan for electronics and Taiwan for floriculture to introduce their skilling model in the state.
ASDM planned to setup skill training center for Divyang in next one year.
By the initiative of Govt. of Assam, NSDC, the nodal agency for skill development in the country is opening its office in ASDM office area for better coordination with the Mission.
Sector Skill Councils are requested to open their office at ASDM, they agreed to open offices to facilitate better coordination with the skill training providers in respect of affiliation, capacity building, assessment and certification.
ASDM has signed agreement with Sector Skill Councils of NSDC.
Initiative has been taken to take constructed but not utilized 25 nos buildings from different departments, Govt. of Assam to be used as Skill training centre.
ASDM is going to signed MoU with schools and colleges to run skill development courses after school hours.
Skill cum job fair proposed at Dibrugarh, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Silchar, Guwahati and Diphu. It will start after rainy season.
ASDM has decided to open skill centres in each district and in each block keeping geographical and communities in mind. Special initiative will be for tribal block and belt to make them more empowered. ASDM is focusing on all those areas which are affected with insurgency and ASDM will give special drive in all those interior areas.
Right skill to right person is the key factor to reduce dropout rate. Thus ASDM adopted new mobilization policy to bring this truth. Under this new mobilization policy unemployed educated youth will be aware of importance of skill development in different sectors/ trades for gainful employment and/or self employment. This will be done in the way of short film by circulating the same through electronic media and social media. It is planned to involve Nagrik Committee, Village head, Village defense organization to circulate the enrollment form up to grass route level. ASDM has planned to make a youth pool for skilling, where all candidates will be connected through an app.
